Richard Reed joined the St. Johnsbury Band in 1960 and is retired from the
St. Johnsbury Fire Department. He plays the trombone and is a lifetime member
of the band.
Richard is one of many family members that have played in the St. Johnsbury Band.
His grandfather, James Lumbra, played trumpet and was a conductor of the band
for many years. Richard has five uncles, one aunt, five cousins, a brother, a
sister, a son, and a daughter who have all played in the band.
Richard has served the band in the past as manager, assistant manager, treasurer,
board member, and librarian.
