St. Johnsbury Band

Memorial Day

The St. Johnsbury Band takes part in the annual Memorial Day ceremonies. The Band starts off with a short, patriotic concert in front of the Caledonia County Courthouse, stopping when the parade of armed forces members reaches the Courthouse. There are speeches, laying of wreaths on monuments in the park, and Taps is played. Pictured here are members of the saxophone and lower brass sections of the Band.

Children's Parade
At the last summer concert of the season, the Band had its first ever Children's Parade. Children in the audience were invited to march in the parade around the bandstand and through the park as the Band played a march. Band member Becky Mackin lined the children up in formation and then led the parade during the march. It was a great way for everyone to enjoy the music and was a big hit with the kids. The Band hopes to make this an annual event.
