Memorial Day Ceremonies
St. Johnsbury Band

The St. Johnsbury Band takes part in the annual Memorial Day ceremonies on a beautiful morning. The Band starts off with a short, patriotic concert in front of the Caledonia County Courthouse, stopping when the parade of armed forces members reaches the Courthouse.

There are speeches and the Band Plays "America's Finest", honoring the individual service branches. Laying of wreaths on monuments in the park, a three gun salute and the playing of Taps follows. The ceremony concludes with some final words.

This year's ceremony was well attended by the public.

July 4th - Woodsville-Wells River Parade

The Band played in the Woodsville-Wells River Parade on the 4th of July as it has done for many years in the past. When the Band plays in a parade, there is a lot of preparation and setup that goes into preparing the flatbed truck the Band rides. A retaining rope is run around the perimeter of the truck bed and the Band banner is attached to both sides. Chairs and all the percussion equipment used is placed on the truck bed. Once everything is setup, the Band members get on the truck bed from the rear, find their place and get ready to play. The slideshow contains a few pictures of the setup process.
